Bass Dude

Good morning lovely bloggers, it's so windy here today, I'm a fair weather girl! so another day indoors for me I think!

I have a card I made using a Kenny K digi image, called Bass Dude. I find Christmas cards for men such a challenge, but am pleased with how this has turned out (it's so much better in real life), it's for my son who's away at uni doing music and his instrument is the bass guitar, so this image is perfect for him. I kept the embellies to a minimum in order to enhance the lovely image. Everything I used is from my stash.

I'm entering this into the following challenges:

Whatever you're doing today, have a happy day. Many thanks for stopping by. Please leave me comment, then I know you've been and I can visit you too.

Light a Penny Candle

Hello again, I have a second card to share with you today, stamped with my Magnolia Tilda with Cross-stitch Heart. I love this stamp and it is one of my all time Magnolia favourites!

I coloured her with my usual Pro-Markers and distressed the edge of the image with a Stempelglede grunge flourish heart. I did a border all around my card with Martha Stewarts Aspen Snowflakes PATP, which I distressed. My papers and card were from my stash and so was my ribbon.

I used my Marianne Doily Die behind the image and an old Woodware punch for the snowflake that I punched out of holographic card. Then I added a Prima Say it in Pearls embellishment, bought from Quixotic Paperie, to the centre of the snowflake.

Finally, I added a Magnolia sentiment, added some crystals and glittered Tildas heart & candlelight.

Wonderful for You

Good morning, and a big hug to my new followers!

We have some lovely sunshine here this morning, I can't believe it's Christmas in only a month! I have managed to make most of my Christmas cards and have a couple of presents (wrapped)! I still have loads to do to make it happen in our house!! I've bought a new Christmas tree, I've gone for a white one this time, I've always had the traditional green, but thought white would make a nice change, but of course, none of my stash of baubles will match with it, I've decided to go for silver, black and red, so have to buy all new ones. Even my beautiful lights that I usually use won't do, as they are on green wires, which won't be right and I can't find any pretty ones on white or invisible wires!! Am sure I'll get there in the end. The pressure I put on myself over these little things, as I like everything matching ..................(lol)

Anyway onto today's card. This is for someone who is going through a tough time right now and is waiting for some life changing news! I've stamped up my lovely new Special Edition Tilda available here and used my usual Pro-Markers to colour her. I've read so much about how wonderful Copics are and have ordered myself a couple of sets, which I'm waiting for postie to bring, can't wait!

I forced myself to cut my beautiful new Trimcraft First Edition, Up Up & Away papers, they are glittered and soo pretty IRL. I used a small Marianne doily die behind my image.

I added leaves cut with the Magnolia leaf die behind the flowers, which were punched. I added tiny crystals to the centre of the flowers and some larger crystals to soften the corner on the image.

I used my Magnolia Butterfly die and popped some more tiny crystals on the stem.

Finally, I finished of with a LOTV sentiment mounted on some matching card, cut with my Nesties and added Liquid Pearl around the edge and some sparkly to Tildas presents.

I again used Magnolias Something for You Tilda, coloured her with Pro-Markers, die cut my new Memory Box Bianca Snowflake with holographic card, a LOTV sentiment stamp, I added my usual sparkly to Tilda's fur and present, Liquid Pearls around the sentiment mount and used some ribbon and backing paper from my stash.

Something for You

Good Evening all,

Firstly welcome to my new followers, I'm so pleased that you think that my blog is worth following!!

I've been busy making a special Christmas card, but I can't mention who it's for in case she visits my blog! but she's someone very special in my life..... I've used another of my unused Magnolia Tilda stamps and coloured her with my Pro-markers. I kept the layout on the card very simple as I wanted to show off the beautiful punch around the page edging that I first saw on Mandy's fab blog - http://asprinklingofglitter.blogspot.com Mandy has a great tutorial on how to do this, it was so easy to follow and is so effective.

I used a glitter background paper from my stash, a ribbon from Little Clare's website and finished of with a LOTV sentiment and of course lots of sparkly! I'm so pleased with the end result.

I keep watching colouring tutorials on You Tube as I still need to work on getting my colouring up to scratch, but it's much harder than it looks!! but hopefully I will improve over time..........

I also followed Mandy's tutorial on how to make a box to fit a card with a PATP edge, as it won't fit in a regular square envelope and anyway, it's so much nicer to give it in a box! It was my first attempt at making a box and again, it was so easy to do!

I decorated the front of the box with a Christmas tree I made with some real Swarovski crystals, that I'd bought for another project and not got round to using!!

I'm entering this into the following challenges:

http://magnoliadownunderchallenges.blogspot.com Challenge #122 So Sentimental
http://christmascardchallenges.blogspot.com/ Week #50 Holly or Wreaths (but any Christmas card will do)
http://foreverfriendschallengeblog.blogspot.com/ Christmas is Coming
http://justmagnolia.blogspot.com/ Week #133 Ribbons
http://magnoliastamplovers.blogspot.com/ Christmas

That's all for now. Thank you for stopping by and please be kind enough to leave me a comment to let me know you've been and I can return the favour. I'm just going to link up to the challenges now and then it's off to bed for me.

Bye for now.

Loving Christmas Wishes

Hello again, It's so cold and gloomy, that I don't want to go out of the house, so after a quick dash to Tesco to stock up my fridge and food cupboard, Now I'm tucked up indoors, chores done, spending my time either crafting or visiting all the lovely blogs I follow. I'm seeing so many wonderful creations and of course I have to have all the stamps, dies and embellishments that are needed to create them, as well as all the other 'essential' goodies that seem to find their way into my basket!! On-line ordering from all the various craft suppliers is too easy and I end up spending a fortune. I won't mention that I have loads of stamps and dies that are still unused!! - lol.

I wanted to enter the http://magnoliastamplovers.blogspot.com/ Christmas Challenge which runs until 19th November. The only requirement is to use a Magnolia stamp:

I finally inked up one of my many unused Tildas and coloured her in with Prismacolor pencils.
The doily was made with a Magnolia Doily die, the papers and card were from my stash, and I added a couple of die cuts that were sent to me free with an order from Dies to Die for - I loved the Memory Box Frostyville Border die so much that I've ordered myself one, though I'm still waiting for the postie to bring it. I used a McGill Multi Tickets punch to make the ticket and stamped a Magnolia sentiment on it, I also added a Prima 'Say it in Pearls' embellishment and finally I heat embossed some snowflakes to the doily and added crystals around the edge, and finished off with lots of sparkly.

Many thanks for coming by. Have a lovely evening.

Bye for now.

Tag Pocket Christmas Card

Hello again, Just a very quick posting today. I couldn't resist this challenge http://flourishes.org 'Tag, you're it' and made this card for it, using some papers that came free in a magazine I bought last year, and stuff from my stash. There is no colouring on this card, but I added lots of sparkly and little sentiments (which you can't see properly on my photo!) on the pull out tags. I know I wanted to create something with my new buys - but I'll do it tomorrow!! Lol

Hope it inspires you to join this lovely challenge too!

That's all for now. Thank you for popping by. Hugs. Vicki x

Fly me to the Moon

Hello ladies, I've been busy visiting lots of blogs and becoming a follower, as I've just realised that I receive all the latest goings on in my blogger dashboard of the blogs I am following - there is some amazing talent out there and I want to attempt to make soo many cards similar to the ones I've seen. I also order so many goodies to be able to craft my 'new creations'. It's costing me a small fortune! and I think I'm being creative, but all I'm really doing is staring at my computer screen - lol. I have managed to make a card to enter into this weeks http://magnoliastamplovers.blogspot.com/ Black challenge:

I used my Magnolia Astronaut Tilda and had my first attempt at masking! and sat her on the Magnolia Rocket from the same collection. I coloured her with Pro-markers and Copics, added some Diamond Stickles and coated her 'helmet' with Anita's 3-D Clear Gloss Finish, which really shines in real life. I stamped the Magnolia sentiment and heat embossed with Heat it Up embossing powder to give a 3D effect. I used card and papers from my stash, added some black ribbon and some silver stars.
Here's a closer look:

And finally a closer look at the embossed sentiment:

Apologies for the dark pictures, but it's such a dull, overcast day today that there's hardly any natural light and  my pictures turn out with so much glare when I use my flash, that you can't see them!
That's all for now.
Have a happy Saturday whatever you're doing and thank you for stopping by.
Hugs,
Vicki x
